<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for testing a cable core for a superconductive cable, capable of preventing damage to the cable core due to thermal shrinkage during testing. <P>SOLUTION: A cable core 100 having a superconductive conductor layer and wound up around a drum 10 is prepared as a test object. A cooling vessel 1 accommodates the test object, and the superconductive conductor layer is cooled by liquid coolant 2L filled in the cooling vessel 1 and while maintaining a superconducting state, characteristics are inspected over the whole length of the core 100. The liquid coolant 2L is introduced to a flow passage 14 to cool the winding barrel 11 of the drum 10, and thereafter, the core 100 is cooled by the coolant having passed through the flow passage 14, then, cooling vessel 1 is filled with the liquid coolant 2L. As the winding barrel 11 is cooled and thermally shrunk before the core 100, even if the core 100 is thermally shrunk, the winding barrel 11 is hardly tightened with the core, thereby the core 100 can be prevented from being damaged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
