960,158. Nuts; bolting. M. FISCHER. Dec. 29, 1960 [Dec. 30, 1959], No. 44677/60. Heading F2H. An elongated synthetic resin nut for mounting articles on hollow bodies, e.g. ceilings, panels and walls, has a flexible strip 2 with a hand-hold 2a formed integrally with the nut and extending from adjacent the threaded bore 1a. The nut 1 has a longitudinal groove in which the strip 2 rests when the nut is being passed through a drilled hole 3a. A bush 4, e.g. of synthetic resin, which is passed into the hole 3a after the nut 1 has been tilted, is effective to hold the nut in position over the hole 3a and to centre the screw 5 to be introduced into the nut bore 1a. The bush 4 is slit to improve its expanding action in the drilled hole 3a and has a lateral lug 4a provided with grooves and a corrugation on its end directly adjoining the nut 1. The bush 4 can slide on the strip 2 and it is aided into position by having grooves at 2b on the strip 2, the bush 4 having an external and corresponding groove. |
