[Class 65 (ii)] A ball joint for linkwork in aircraft controls &c. comprises a hard metal ball 5 fitted non- rotatably as by a press fit, in a hole 4 in one member 1 of the linkwork, and connected to cupshaped sockets 6 on another member either through balls 7 or by directly engaging spherical surfaces on the sockets. The cups 6 may be connected to the forked ends 11 of a lever by a bolt 10 passing through the ball 5. In another form, the cups are connected to 11 by -spring clips and pins engaging 6 and 11, or by the pins only. The length of the rod 1 may be adjusted by screw and nut mechanism. |
