A composite matrix is formed by securing together a primary matrix and at least one secondary matrix by attaching to one or both sides of the abutting edges a sealing tape comprising a non-shrinking and non-deteriorating base member, such as woven or unwoven glass fabric or asbestos, copper or aluminium, a coating of a fluorinated synthetic resin such as polytetrafluoroethylene, and a pressure-sensitive silicon adhesive containing a solvent. The matrices are pre-shrunk by heating and cut as necessary, the tape is applied, and the assembly is heated to remove the solvent.</p> |
