Method for altering the width of a strip of sheet metal

The method involves molding a step-like shoulder (13) in the longitudinal direction of a metal sheet. Change angles of the step-like shoulder are modified in the longitudinal direction of the metal sheet to change the width of the metal sheet. The change angle is reduced to cause a tapering of the metal sheet, where the change angle is increased to cause a widening of the metal sheet. Height of the step-like shoulder changes in the longitudinal direction of the metal sheet despite the changing angle of the step-like shoulder is kept substantially constant. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing of metal sheets for use in roof or facade cladding.
