<p>The present invention provides an optical element and a smart blind including the same. According to the present invention, the optical element can be advantageously used for a smart blind by compensating for the phase difference of a protective film in the thickness direction and preventing light from leaking while being transmitted or blocked. The optical element comprises: a polarizer; and an optical anisotropic film which is arranged on one side of the polarizer, includes first and second polarizing plates arranged to face each other, wherein the first and second polarizing plates separately have a 1/4 wavelength layer including first and second areas having different phase lag characteristics and the protective film having a phase difference in the thickness direction to be placed in a space between the polarizer and the 1/4 wavelength layer, and has a phase difference in the thickness direction greater than the sum of the phase difference of the protective film in the thickness direction.</p> |
