<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distinguish quickly and certainly a communication device among other communication devices that has substantially a malfunction in collecting statistical information and transferring the collected statistical information to a network monitoring device, even in a communication system including many low reliable and small-sized communication devices with inevitable frequent power-off, and to facilitate prompt maintenance on the malfunctioning communication device. <P>SOLUTION: A communication system includes a network monitoring device 101 to which a plurality of communication devices 108 are connected via a transit link 210. Each of the plurality of communication devices collects statistical information on communication with the network monitoring device, and transmits the collected statistical information to the network monitoring device. The network monitoring device stores a history of statistical information collection for each of the plurality of communication devices and a history of communication with each of the plurality of communication devices, compares the history of communication and the history of statistical information collection, and determines by the comparison result a communication device among the plurality of communication devices that has a fault in transmitting its statistical information to the network monitoring device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
