A transmission apparatus which is small and capable of supplying oil selectively to a plurality of hydraulic clutch portions, and a saddle type vehicle including the transmission apparatus are provided. The transmission apparatus (44) has clutch portions (C3, C4); oil paths (136, 138) arranged to introduce oil to the clutch portions (C3, C4); an oil path (184) arranged to introduce oil from an oil pan (190); and a valve member (194). The valve member (194) has an oil path (206) formed on a pivot axis (194a), and oil paths (210, 212) formed on a first hypothetical plane (222) which is vertical to the pivot axis (194a). As the oil path (210) communicates with the oil path (136), oil in the oil path (184) is introduced to the oil path (136) through the oil paths (206, 210). As the oil path (212) communicates with the oil path (138), oil in the oil path (184) is introduced to the oil path (138) through the oil paths (206, 212). |
