<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of a periodical image quality failure in an image formed on a recording material. <P>SOLUTION: An image input device 200 reads a result obtained by forming an image of a pattern for analyzing an image quality characteristic by an image output device 400 without performing a conversion processing to area gradation to acquire image data for analyzing the image quality. Signal strength at every space frequency in the image data of each patch image included in the image data for analyzing the image quality is calculated. An index showing a degree of matching between a distribution characteristic of the signal strength at the every space frequency and a distribution characteristic of signal strength at every space frequency of each dither pattern corresponding to the gradation level of each patch image among dither patterns stored in a dither pattern storage section is calculated. A dither pattern optimization section 21 sets a dither pattern group used in a gradation reproduction processing after the image quality is adjusted by a gradation reproduction processing section 18 is set in a dither pattern group whose index becomes lower than a dither pattern group which is set before the image quality is adjusted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
