The present invention relates to a cathode active material for a lithium secondary battery and a method for manufacturing the same, and more specifically, to a cathode active material having an excessive lithium oxide phase and a method for manufacturing the same. According to the present invention, the cathode active material can generate high voltage stably when being applied to a lithium secondary battery and increase the diffusion rate of lithium to improve rate characteristics of a battery. Also, damage to cathode due to HF in an electrolyte can be reduced. |
