Mixed reality passive monitoring system within a building or other structure comprising headset 100 with screen for placing over users eyes, image capture means capturing images of the real world in users vicinity, and processor generating three-dimensional virtual reality environment and blending images of real-world environment into said 3D VR environment to create and display an augmented reality environment representative of users field of view, further comprising storage module 112 containing three dimensional virtual model of the layout and at least one required condition of building or structure, comparison module 104 comparing real world images in users vicinity with corresponding portion of virtual model to identify differences in said layout and/or at least one condition, and image processor 104 generating and displaying image data representative of any identified differences. A coloured mask may overlay the blended image at the location of any differences. A positioning module may determine users current location. Data from external remote sensors 108,110 may be received by comparison module 104 and compared against corresponding data within virtual model 112 to identify any differences in the health, structural or environmental status of the building or structure, e.g. submarine or ship. |
