The work apparatus (1) comprises a fuel container (8) and a dosing device (10), through which the fuel is fed from the fuel container to a combustion space (12), in which a flammable mixture is ignited, for setting a fastening element. A container temperature sensor (31) and a dosing temperature sensor (32) are provided, which are connected to a measurement value acquisition unit for control purposes. The container temperature sensor is arranged on or in the fuel container. The dosing temperature sensor is arranged on or in the dosing device.
