<p>A device for providing food and/or drink for an animal, comprising a body, an alimentation area 1 with a sprung, lockable lid 2 and a pressure sensitive pedal 3, the hinged lid arranged to be unlocked when in proximity of a ferromagnetic key 4 and allowed to be raised when an animal 100 steps onto the pedal. In other embodiments the lid is provided with a timed closing mechanism or be weighted to allow automatic closure when pressure is removed from the pedal. The closing of the lid may be dampened. Alternatively, the lid opens and closes automatically in relation to the proximity of the ferromagnetic key.</p> |
