<p>The present invention relates to a steam generator and a cooking appliance, and more specifically, to a steam generator which prevents water for generating steam from boiling over and splattering and has improved heating efficiency, and a cooking appliance having the steam generator. According to the present invention, the steam generator comprises: a steam chamber to have an internal space for generating steam as a steam case is joined to a steam cover; a steam heater mounted on the steam chamber to heat water in order to generate steam; an interference member formed in the internal space of the steam chamber to interfere in the upward flow of the water and the steam; a water supply hole positioned in a space where the interference member is formed to provide a supply passage for the water; and an outlet for providing a discharge passage for the steam. According to the present invention, the cooking appliance has the steam generator mounted on one side of a cooking chamber for providing a space for cooking foods. According to the present invention, the contamination of the cooking appliance can be prevented, cleaning time can be reduced, and users can maintain their health.</p> |
