The present invention relates to a premix burner to operate a heat generator. The burner comprises at least: a vortex generator; a mixed section in the downstream of the vortex generator; and a transition member transmitting a vortex flow from the vortex generator into the mixed section. In addition, the present invention relates to a transition member for the premix burner. The transition member (2) includes: an inlet connected to the vortex generator (1); an outlet connected to a mixing tube; and an inner contour portion (12) restricting a continuous flow between the inlet and the outlet. The inner contour portion (12) is inwardly bent in the radial direction toward an inner diameter of the mixing tube at least in the inlet section and has the same height as an inner flow restricting contour portion of the mixing tube in the outlet.
