The stiffener includes at least one arm having a flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) portion and a deflection portion angled relative to the FPCB portion. The magnetic storage device also includes an FPCB coupled to the stiffener.

A magnetic storage device, comprising: at least one magnetic disk having a circular-shaped outer periphery; at least one armature rotatably movable relative to the at least one magnetic disk; a transducer head coupled to the armature; a stiffener coupled to the armature, the stiffener comprising at least one arm having a flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) portion and a deflection portion angled relative to the FPCB portion, the deflection portion extending from the FPCB portion tangentially relative to the circular-shaped outer periphery of the at least one magnetic disk, wherein the deflection portion comprises a deflection surface facing the at least one magnetic disk and a back surface opposing the deflection surface, and wherein an entirety of the deflection surface and the back surface define an acute angle with the FPCB portion; and an FPCB coupled to the stiffener.
