The present invention cultivates Saururus chinensis BAILL. with a culture medium containing trivalent chromium (Cr^3+) at a concentration of 0.00001-0.002 mol/L, thereby allowing the trivalent chromium to be organo-modified and contained in Saururus chinensis BAILL. tissue. Accordingly, the Saururus chinensis BAILL. has an antidiabetic effect. Therefore, the Saururus chinensis BAILL. is taken by a diabetic patient and thus is effective in treating hyperglycemia. Especially, the blood sugar inhibitory effect of the Saururus chinensis BAILL. is three to five times better than that of Acarbose taken as a blood sugar inhibitor. The Saururus chinensis BAILL. helps to treat and prevent diabetes. |
