摘要 Systems and methods relating to communication within a fabric network are presented. The fabric network includes one or more logical networks that enables devices connected to the fabric to communicate with each other using various profiles known to the devices. A device sending a message may follow a general message format to encode the message so that other devices in the fabric may understand the message regardless of which logical networks the devices are connected to. Within the message format, a payload of data may be included for the receiving device to forward, store, or process the message. The format and the contents of the payload may vary according to a header within the payload that indicates a profile and a message type within the profile. Using the profile and message type, the receiving devices may decode the message to process the message.

An electronic device, comprising: a memory configured to store instructions; a processing system communicatively coupled to the memory or storage device, wherein the processing system is configured to execute the instructions to: receive a SendInit message related to a bulk transfer event from a second electronic device in a fabric network, wherein the bulk transfer event corresponds to a bulk data transfer of an at least one file between the electronic device and the second electronic device through the fabric network, wherein the SendInit message comprises: a SendInit transfer control, wherein the transfer control is related to how the bulk data transfer will be performed;a file designator configured to provide an identification of the at least one file to be sent in the bulk data transfer; anda file designator length configured to indicate a length of the file designator; andgenerate a SendAccept message, wherein the SendAccept message is configured to indicate a transfer mode, wherein the SendAccept message comprises: a SendAccept transfer control, wherein the SendAccept transfer control corresponds to values in the SendInit transfer control; anda maximum block size that indicates a maximum size of the bulk data transfer; andtransmit the SendAccept message to the second electronic device in the fabric network.
