<p>Disclosed is a method for unfolding an external airbag, comprising: a setting step which sets a detection area in front of a vehicle; a target selection step which selects a target object by comparing TTE, which is a remaining time before colliding with an airbag cushion, when assuming a relative speed, an overlap, and unfolding of an external airbag among detection objects within the detection area; a stability determination step which determines whether the vehicle is in a stable or unstable state by the comparison of an estimated yaw rate and a measured yaw rate of the vehicle; an estimation step which determines whether the estimated relative speed and overlap are at a certain level or higher when assuming a collision between the target object and the vehicle; and an unfolding step which unfolds the external airbag when the vehicle is in a stable state, and the estimated relative speed and overlap of the target objects are at the certain level or higher.</p> |
