The present invention relates to a liquid crystal horizontal alignment agent, a horizontal alignment-type liquid crystal composition, and a horizontal alignment-type liquid crystal display device, wherein a liquid molecule can be horizontally aligned on a substrate without depending on a rubbed alignment film. The liquid crystal horizontal alignment agent of the present invention includes: a core; and a dendrimer having a dendron connected to the core and having an azo group. Moreover, the horizontal alignment-type liquid crystal composition of the present invention includes: a liquid crystal component; and the liquid crystal horizontal alignment agent. In addition, the horizontal alignment-type liquid crystal display device has the horizontal alignment-type liquid crystal composition as a liquid crystal layer and horizontally aligns a liquid molecule by irradiating polarized UV onto the horizontal alignment-type liquid crystal composition.
