The present invention relates to a device for protecting a power cable for protecting a power cable for connecting an offshore platform and a method for protecting the same which is characterized by comprising a temperature decreasing part decreasing the temperature of a part exposed over the sea level of a cable protecting pipe member; a hose member connected on the surrounding surface of the cable protecting pipe member; and a pumping member operated by being connected to the hose member to discharge air inside the cable protecting pipe member to cool the power cable and the cable protecting pipe member of the part by increasing the sea level. The device for protecting a power cable for connecting an offshore platform in the present invention decreases the temperature inside a pipe by forcibly increasing the water level inside the pipe protecting the power cable connected to the offshore platform to protect the offshore cable with a simple structure and the low costs. |
