The present invention accurately detects a rotation angle according to contact with a rice seedling during self-driving of a weeding robot and allows the exact location of the rice seedling to be easily detected. According to the present invention, a sensing apparatus for a weeding robot comprises a main body where a power source is mounted and a weeding part is arranged on one side; a wheel receiving rotary power from the power source and driven by an orbital rotation method; a control unit for controlling the direction of orbital rotation of the wheel; and a sensing unit arranged in front of the main body and sensing an obstacle such as a rice seedling or the like during driving of the main body, followed by outputting the result to the control unit. The sensing unit comprises a head arranged in a position high enough to touch the top of a rice seedling planted and grown in a rice paddy while the main body runs forwards and rotated during contact with the top of the rice seedling; a sensor casing arranged under the head and supporting the rotation of the head; and a sensing means arranged on the sensor casing and sensing the rotation of the head, followed by outputting the result to the control unit. |
