The method of supplying sub-cooled cryogenic liquid from a reservoir to a consumer equipment, comprises placing a liquid nitrogen bath in a heat exchanger (22) immersed in a bath of (non)cryogenic liquid, controlling the bath at a predetermined level, and passing the liquid through the heat exchanger before introducing it to the consumer device. The reservoir contains the cryogenic liquid in liquid phase at its bottom and gaseous phase at its top. A content of pressure in the reservoir is higher than atmospheric pressure. An independent claim is included for an installation for supplying sub-cooled cryogenic liquid from a reservoir to a consumer equipment.
