Provided is a chromatography column contained in a container. The column container is provided with a container body for containing the chromatography column, and a cover engaging the container body. The container body has an internal wall provided with a threaded recess for engagement with the cover. A seal member is provided on each of the internal bottom of the container body and the lower face of the cover. When the cover engages the container body, the cover enters the interior of the container body so as to cause the seal member on the internal bottom of the container body and the lower face of the cover to press the upper and lower faces of the column, whereby the column is fixed within the container body and a fluid passage bore of the column is sealed.
