The invention relates to a method for producing a battery module which comprises a plurality of battery cells, in which method a module housing (12) of the battery module is provided in a first step. A core arrangement (20) is introduced into the module housing (12), wherein a hollow space, which is to be provided in a cured encapsulation compound (26), is defined by a respective core (22) of the core arrangement (20). The encapsulation compound (26) is then introduced (S14) into the module housing (12). After the encapsulation compound (26) has been allowed to cure and the core arrangement (20) has been removed from the module housing (12), an electrode arrangement, which is associated with the respective battery cell, is arranged in the hollow space which is formed in the cured encapsulation compound (26).
