The fluorescent light source device according to the present invention is equipped with a wave-length converting member comprising a fluorescent body excited by an excitation light, and is characterized in that the wave-length converting member includes: a fluorescent member that contains the fluorescent body and exhibits a periodic structure in which protrusions are periodically arranged on an excitation light receiving surface; and a excitation light diffusion layer that is formed on the excitation light receiving surface of the fluorescent member.
