<p>Method and apparatus for anchoring and supporting a member (24) in an upright position in the ground (56). An upper portion (12) disposed above the ground (56) receives and supports the upright member (24) along with a lower portion (14) disposed beneath the surface of the ground (56) in a manner so as to secure the member (24) in an upright position. The upper portion (12) is attached to the lower portion (14) using an anchor plate (30) secured to the lower portion (14) using threaded studs (38) which are mounted into the cement (44) of the foundation. The anchor plate (30) is attached to a lower box (34) sunk into the cement (44) foundation with the lower box (34) being secured into the foundation using a plurality of generally upright standing reinforcement bars (46).</p> |
