1. A method for the control and/or prevention of fungal growth comprising the steps of:
applying a fungicidally effective amount of at least one compound of Formula I wherein: X is H, C(O)R3, or CH2OR3; Y is H, C(O)R3, or Q; Q is R1 is chosen from H, alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, —Si(R5)3, or —C(O)R6, each optionally substituted with 0, 1 or multiple R6; R2 is chosen from CH2R8, aryl, alkyl, or alkenyl, each optionally substituted with 0, 1, or multiple R6; R3 is chosen from alkyl, alkoxy, benzyl, or benzyloxy, each optionally substituted with 0, 1, or multiple R5; R4 is chosen from H, —C(O)R7 or —CH2OC(O)R7; R5 is chosen from alkyl, halo, or alkoxy; R6 is chosen from alkyl, alkenyl, halo, haloalkyl, alkoxy, aryl, heteroaryl, heterocyclyl, thioalkyl, or —C(O)R5; R7 is chosen from alkyl or alkoxy, each optionally substituted with 0, 1, or multiple R6; R8 is chosen from H, alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, thioalkyl, or heteroaryl, each optionally substituted with 0, 1, or multiple R6. to at least one surface selected from the group consisting of:
a plant, an area adjacent to a plant, soil adapted to support growth of a plant, a root of a plant, foliage of a plant, and a seed adapted to produce a plant. |
