The invention relates to an intelligent user interface for a control system of a technical installation. According to the invention, the user interface comprises a first data interface, which is designed to receive installation-specific data from the control system, and a second data interface, which is designed to receive data of a generic data level. Furthermore, the user interface is connected to a computing unit, which is programmed in such a way that an automatic association of the installation-specific data with the generic data is performed on the basis of clear association rules and said association is displayed on display surfaces. The user interface can be used as an installation-wide tool for automated engineering, in particular of diagnostic tools.
