This base station, which uses a plurality of antenna ports to communicate with a mobile station, has a mapping-information sending unit, a multiplexing unit, and a transmission unit. The mapping-information sending unit generates a mapping of channel state information reference signals (CSI-RSs) to the aforementioned antenna ports by combining, within a resource block, CSI-RS mappings each defined for at most a prescribed number of antenna ports. The mapping-information sending unit then sends information representing the generated mapping to the mobile station. The multiplexing unit multiplexes CSI-RSs onto resource elements within a resource block in accordance with the generated mapping, and the transmission unit transmits said CSI-RSs.
