PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and an X-ray computed tomography apparatus, for achieving a TV minimization iterative reconstruction algorithm that is also applicable to parallel computation.SOLUTION: A data collection circuit 104 collects projection data. A reconstruction unit 114 reconstructs an image volume on the basis of the projection data. The reconstruction unit 114 groups the projection data into a plurality of subsets, each of which includes a plurality of views. The reconstruction unit 114 performs OS-SART (Ordered-Subset Simultaneous Algebraic Reconstruction Techniques) on the plurality of views of each of the plurality of subsets in parallel in order to update the image volume. The reconstruction unit 114 determines a gradient step value according to a predetermined rule after the OS-SART is completed. The reconstruction unit 114 adaptively minimizes a total variation using the gradient step value. |
