Provided are a method for image encoding, a method for image decoding, methods and systems for image encoding and decoding and a terminal. The method for image encoding comprises: determining, in a video sequence that is to be transmitted to a receiving terminal, whether there is at least one front face image in a facial image of a current image frame; if there is at least one front face image, dividing each front face image of the at least one front face image along the central perpendicular line of a line between the two eyes of a front face image, and calculating difference data between a half front face image and another half front face image of the divided front face image; and obtaining front face information by encoding either half front face image and the difference data of the front face image by means of a first encoding scheme, and transmitting the front face information to the receiving terminal. By means of the technical solution of the present application, in an image transmission process, the bandwidth occupied by transmission can be further reduced, user experience to image transmission can be improved, and an image receiving end can restore an original image frame. |
