The headset (120A) comprises: a memory (142) for storing at least one audio parameter for personalizing audio; an outbound communications interface (143) coupled to the memory (142) for transmitting the at least one stored audio parameter to the audio reproduction device (190) which personalizes audio in accordance with the at least one audio parameter; a controller (140A) for controlling the memory (142) and the outbound communications interface (143); right and left audio transducers (121, 122) for reproducing audio received from the audio reproduction device (190) personalized in accordance with the at least one audio parameter; and a communications channel (110, 117) for carrying the at least one audio parameter to the audio reproduction device (190) and for carrying audio signals from the audio reproduction device (190) to the right and left audio transducers (121, 122).
