FINE POWDER OF POLYAMIDE FROM RENEWABLE MATERIALS AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a powder of polyamide PA (homopolyamide or copolyamide) at least partially derived from renewable materials for use in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals or perfumes; and a method for producing the polyamide powder.SOLUTION: The polyamide PA is selected from PA11 and PA10.10, and the copolyamide includes at least one of monomers comprising 11, 10.10, 10.36.6.10, 1O.T and mixtures of these. Provided is a method for producing a fine polyamide PA powder consisting of nonspherical particles having a narrow particle size distribution with a volume average diameter of 20 μm or less, using an opposed air jet mill (2 nozzle) grinder with a grinding speed adjusted to obtain the desired particle size.
