The present invention actively introduces a fluid to a sliding surface and discharges said fluid from the sliding surface, preventing the concentration of substances that generate deposits on the sliding surface. Thus, the present invention prevents fluid that has been introduced to the sliding surface from leaking to a low-pressure fluid side, while preventing the generation of deposits, thereby maintaining the sealing function of the sliding surface over a long period of time. A fluid circulation groove (10), which is composed of an entrance-side section (11) where fluid enters from a high-pressure fluid side and an exit-side section (12) where the fluid escapes to the high-pressure fluid side, is provided to the sliding surface (S) on one side where a pair of sliding components slide relative to one another. The fluid circulation groove (10) is isolated from the low-pressure fluid side by a land part (R). The fluid circulation groove (10) is characterized in that the groove width of the exit-side section (12) gradually expands towards an exit end. |
