The present invention provides a battery pack comprising an electrically insulating pack case, the battery pack comprising: a plate-shaped battery cell which is formed in a rectangular planar structure and provided with a negative electrode terminal and a positive electrode terminal on one lateral side, which comprises a sealed surplus portion; a protection circuit module (PCM) which is electrically connected to the electrode terminals of the battery cell, controls the operation of the battery pack, and is mounted on the sealed surplus portion; and a pack case which is formed by means of application, in a heat-melted state, on the sealed surplus portion, PCM, and both outer peripheral sides, and then solidification, and which covers the sealed surplus portion, PCM, and both outer peripheral sides of the battery cell, with the upper surface and the lower surface of the plate-shaped battery cell being exposed. |
