A test substance detection system provided with a first layer including a carrier modified with a first material capable of binding to a test substance via a binding site of the test substance and a marker modified with a second material capable of binding to the test substance via a site different from the binding site and a second layer that does not contain the carrier or the marker before the application of an external attractive force, wherein it is possible for a complex in which the carrier and the test substance are bound to be made to move from the first layer to the second layer by an external attractive force.
