PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase variable speed of valve timing in accordance with an engine speed of an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A control system 40 for selecting a plurality of introduction chambers from advance chambers 21, 22, 23 and 24 and delay chambers 25, 26, 27 and 28 includes speed determination means (S104) for determining an engine speed of an internal combustion engine when a rotation phase is varied to an advance direction A as an adjustment direction, low speed time control means (S105) for communicating the advance chambers 21, 22, 23 and 24 as all of the introduction chambers with a pump 4 when low speed determination that the engine speed is low is made by the speed determination means, and high speed time control means (S107) for communicating the main advance chambers 21 and 22 as a part of the introduction chambers with the pump 4 and communicating the sub advance chambers 23 and 24 as the remaining introduction chambers with a drain pan 5 when high speed determination that the engine speed is high is made by the speed determination means. |
