An objective of the present invention is to provide a payment system, a payment device, a payment method, and a program, whereby load from computation processing in a payment process which arranges prescribed digits of an account balance in prescribed numerals is reduced, and the payment process is completed in a short amount of time. A payment system which carries out a payment process upon an account balance which is retained in a medium as digital data is characterized by comprising: a computation means for updating the account balance on the basis of a computation amount which is calculated on the basis of a payment amount and the account balance and obtaining a post-update account balance; and a computation amount calculation means for calculating the computation amount such that prescribed digits of the post-update account balance are prescribed numerals. |
