A detection method and detection device for a broken circuit of a gate line. The detection method for a broken circuit of a gate line comprises: step 1: arranging at one end of a gate line (2) to be tested a first unit (41) at least capable of receiving a signal, and arranging a second unit (42) at least capable of transmitting a signal at the other end thereof; and step 2 : arranging a first signal receiving unit (51) used for receiving a signal on a gate line separate from the gate line (2) to be tested. In the present detection method for a broken circuit of a gate line, whether a broken circuit occurs is determined according to the intensity of a signal received by the first signal receiving unit (51), so that in the detection of a broken circuit of a gate line for a dual-side drive type display device, whether a broken circuit occurs in the gate line can be accurately detected, thereby providing technical support for eliminating bad products in time and realizing the purpose of improving the product yield. |
