Embodiments disclosed herein include a method comprising providing a treatment fluid comprising an aqueous base fluid, a gelling agent, and a multifunctional boronic crosslinker, wherein the multifunctional boronic crosslinker comprises a dendritic polymer comprising a water-soluble monomer and a boronic acid group, wherein the ratio of the water-soluble monomer to the boronic acid group is in the range of from about 1:210 to about 1:800; and introducing the treatment fluid into a subterranean formation.
