A firearm (1) comprising a main body (5) a slide (20), and a detection system (10) suitable to detect the presence of a bullet inside the cartridge chamber (21). Said detection system (10) comprises: a detection device (100) positioned in a forward position in which a detection portion thereof (101) is placed inside the cartridge chamber (21), and movable into a rearward position by the bullet in the barrel; - an idler device (200) engaged with the detection device (100) and moved, in turn by the detection device (100), comprising at least one primary sensor (250); a receiver device (300) suitable to receive the information of the presence of the bullet in the barrel depending on the position of the primary sensor element (250), comprising at least one secondary sensor element (350) magnetically sensitive to said primary sensor element (250).
