<p>The embodiments of the present invention disclose a handover method and device. The method comprises: a first base station sends to a second base station a user equipment (UE) handover preparation message so that the second base station establishes UE context information and prepares reserve resources; if the first base station determines that it is necessary for the second base station to release the reserve resources, the first base station initiates a resource release instruction to the second base station to instruct the second base station to release the reserve resources, while at the same time retaining the UE context information. Hence, under the instruction of the first base station, the second base station releases the reserve resources, but retains the UE context information, and the UE can be successfully reconstructed in the second base station, thus optimizing the means of handover.</p> |
