PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission device capable of improving the expression capability of a platform-profile for prescribing additional functions of an application in an HbbTV system.SOLUTION: The transmission device includes: an application data transmission section that transmits application data for an HbbTV; and an AIT transmission section that transmits an AIT which is an application profile for prescribing one or more additional functions of the application and which is constituted of a first bit area of upper n bits and a second bit area of lower (16-n) bits for representing the functions allotted to the respective bit positions in a bitmap structure, and in the first bit area includes an application profile, values for switching the respective functions which are allotted to the respective bit positions in the second bit area are set.
