This invention provides an imaging device and an imaging method that make it possible to remove ghosting. This imaging device is provided with an image sensor (14), an optical diaphragm that mechanically limits the luminous flux incident on said image sensor (14), and an electronic diaphragm that electronically controls an aperture value. In the image sensor (14), in which a plurality of pixels that each have an organic layer (14-4) that performs photoelectric conversion are arrayed two-dimensionally, each pixel is divided into a plurality of segments and has the following: an on-chip microlens (15) that forms, on said plurality of segments, pupil images from imaging optics; and readout units (16) that read out photoelectrically converted signals from the respective segments into which the pixel is divided. On the basis of an aperture value controlled by the optical diaphragm, the electronic diaphragm selects, from among a plurality of segment signals, a segment signal corresponding to said aperture value. |
