<p>Embodiments of the present invention relate to the field of communications. Provided are an access point configuration method and a controller, which can effectively configure new access points and meet requirements of users on capacity and coverage, thus improving network performance and reducing maintenance costs. The method comprises: receiving a load statistical report sent by existing access points under a controller, determining a first set based on the load statistical report, determining a configuration method of new access points based on a quantity of access points in the first set and a quantity of the existing access points, determining configuration information of the new access points through the configuration method, and delivering the configuration information to the new access points, wherein the configuration information comprises a quantity, location information, a working mode, a working channel and transmission power of the new access points. The embodiments of the present invention are used for configuring information for the new access points.</p> |
