The present invention relates to a backlight unit and a liquid crystal display device using the same. Especially, the technical objective is to provide a backlight unit capable of preventing the leakage or splitting of light from a gap between a guide panel and an optical sheet part, and a liquid crystal display device using the same. For such, a back light unit according to the present invention includes a light guide part; a light source part which is arranged in the lateral direction of the light guide plate and emits light; an optical sheet part which is arranged in the front direction of the light guide plate and converts the progress direction of light emitted from the light guide plate into a direction vertical to the light guide plate; a guide panel which guides the light guide plate, the light source, and the optical sheet part, and is separated from the end of the optical sheet; a reflective plate which is arranged in the back direction of the light guide plate, and reflects light transmitted through the light guide plate to the front direction of the light guide plate; a lateral reflective plate which is attached to the side of the light guide plate; and a cover bottom which is combined with the guide panel and is for arranging the reflective plate. A holding part light absorption material is applied to a holding part formed in the optical sheet part. |
