PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound that is useful for a material for an organic EL element and is capable of vapor deposition and that exhibits high Tg.

SOLUTION: The material for an organic electroluminescent element comprises a compound represented by formula, wherein R1to R34are each independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group, a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent aromatic hydrocarbon group, a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent aliphatic heterocyclic group, a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent aromatic heterocyclic group, an alkyloxy group, an aryloxy group, a cyano group, a substituted silyl group, or a substituted amino group; R1to R9, R10to R18, R19to R27, and R28to R36each may form a ring by bonding to the adjacent group; and L is eliminated.
