The present invention is an electrode (101) for ion secondary batteries, which is characterized in that the surface of a conductor (102) is provided with a vanadium oxide coating film (103). The present invention is also a method for producing an electrode for ion secondary batteries, by which the electrode (101) for ion secondary batteries is produced. The method for producing an electrode for ion secondary batteries is characterized in that a vanadium oxide coating film (103) is formed by thermally spraying a powder material for thermal spray containing a vanadium oxide onto the surface of a conductor (102). Also provided are a lithium ion secondary battery and a magnesium ion secondary battery, each of which is characterized by using the electrode (101) for ion secondary batteries.
