<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrically-assisted turbocharger that reduces iron loss of an electric motor and prevents a turbo shaft from being applied with an offset load. <P>SOLUTION: The electrically-assisted turbocharger includes: an exhaust turbine 3 having a turbine wheel 2 rotated by exhaust gas; an intake compressor 5 having a compressor wheel 4 for compressing air by rotation; a turbo shaft 6 integrated with the turbine wheel 2 and the compressor wheel 4 so as to transmit rotation from the exhaust-turbine side to the intake-compressor side; a planetary gear mechanism 9 in which a sun gear 7 is attached to the turbo shaft 6 and external teeth are formed on the outer periphery of a ring gear 8; a drive gear 10 meshed with the external teeth of the ring gear 8 of the planetary gear mechanism 9 and having a larger number of teeth than the sun gear 7; and an electric motor 11 for rotating the drive gear 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
